Apart from researching for homework, playing online games, chatting and updating the latest status of our friends or doing online window shopping, we can actually do a lot more through the internet.
There is no doubt that most of the present teenager's surfing habits must have something related to their peer relationship. They love to follow the "new trend of fashion" so to introduce a better appearance to the others. The new electronic devices would be their main target too. They spend time visiting numerous websites so they would not be outdated with the current hottest topical subjects.
The best representative would absolutely be Facebook!
I admit that I am one of the common teenager who spend at least one hour on scanning the facebook home page. This is a way to keep contact with friends on my list. We can share ideas to the others at any time we want by posting no matter photos, pictures, sentences or just symbols without actual meaning. We would click on the "like" button if we like or agree with the posts,or we leave comments. Sometimes it is hard to define whether we are just leaving comments on the posts or we are just finding excuses to chat with our friends.
As more and more people are using Facebook, it seems to have become our habit to "like" rather than it is really arousing our sympathy.
I don't know if anyone of you have noticed that, there are more tricky links or pages are taking advantages of the "like" button to raise their public attention.
For example, some articles start with an engrossing opening but stop at the most exciting scene. I think many of you must have read about this kind of thing right? Then if you want to read further more, you must "like" or share so to go on. It is so crafty isn't it?
What I hate most are those convincing people to "like" for donation. Maybe photos of some people or animals that had suffered from a dramatically serious accident were published, the page would say that "one like worth one dollar" or "if it exceeds XXX likes, a surgery will be taken".
Here is an example that I found on facebook today.
At the very first time I saw something like this, I click on the "like" button without a thought. But as I am checking facebook for months, I found more and more similar posts, which I start suspecting the credibility of these appeals.
It feels like they are utilizing our compassion and drawing our attention to such issues but not taking any action .
In fact, we are not that useless to these victims. We certainly can make concrete contribution to them. Other than posting photos and asking for "likes" on facebook, why don't we just spend a few minutes to call for a campaign to ask for real donation?

Of course we have to get its approval before we really ask for donation from the others. We can also browse the page to read more about who are in need at the moment. We are all free to make our own decisions. It is not forcing us to give money to every post. It just provides a platform for people who need help and people who would like to help.
